Tell the Senate to take action for children and families

Last week, the House of Representatives passed the HEROES Act, an expansive plan that builds on the groundwork laid by previous coronavirus relief packages and seeks to ease the damaging health and economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s now up to the Senate to take action—and children across the country don’t have another minute to wait.

But Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has indicated he wants to hit “pause” on additional  COVID-19 legislation. Our nation’s most vulnerable children, especially children of color, whose needs are growing more urgent each day, cannot afford a “pause” on lifesaving assistance. They need help before it's too late. Tell your Senators that children and families need them to act now.

Dear [Decision Maker],

In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, vulnerable children could get left behind. I am calling on you and your Senate colleagues to take swift action now to ensure that doesn't happen. The House has passed the HEROES Act, and now it's time for the Senate to take action. Our nation's children, whose needs are growing more urgent each day, cannot afford a delay on lifesaving assistance.

Even before this crisis, millions of families were struggling to keep food on the table and a roof over their heads. With unemployment skyrocketing and child hunger and poverty on the rise, our country's children don't have another minute to wait. I'm counting on you to take urgent action to ensure children and families have the additional relief they need to weather this storm.

Sincerely,
