Help End Child Poverty in the State Budget

The Governor and the Legislature have an opportunity to address child poverty in California by making key investments in the 2017-18 budget.

The CalEITC, which capitalizes on the federal EITC, has long-lasting benefits for children, families, and communities. This is an important measure because by investing in this proven anti-poverty strategy, the Legislature can lift low-income working families and individuals out of deep poverty and improve child and maternal health outcomes, increase educational achievement, spur local economic growth and build long-term economic security. Creating a new CalWORKs Baby Wellness and Family Support Home Visiting Program would help our most vulnerable families.  The program would provide voluntary home visiting services to pregnant parents and parents with a child under age 3 in the CalWORKs program to help promote child health, strengthen parenting, and build family self-sufficiency.

Do your part to level the playing field for California's children by urging your representatives to expand the CalEITC and invest in early home visiting in the 2017-18 state budget. Taking action is simple. Just fill out your information below and personalize the letter on the right.
